Plaid Cymru politicians arrested

The BBC is reporting that at least two Plaid politicians have been arrested at the protest against renewing trident in Faslane submarine base, Scotland.

South Wales Central AM Leanne Wood, and MEP Jill Evans are understood to have been removed from the scene and arrested, along with a clutch of Greens and SNP politcians.

So, the nationalists are again doing the running on a huge issue. It's old style campaigning, and to be honest, it's quite refreshing. It harks back to a day when politicians cared enough to put their own heads on the line.

This should be Liberal Democrat election gold dust - but as with Iraq, the nationalists in Wales and Scotland have wrested the initiative.

yes, but the Lib dems are far too cautious to take part in such a risk taking exercise. Best stick the their Focus deliveries! Well done Plaid Cymru for setting the agenda again!

Refreshing, indeed, to see politicians getting their hands dirty, quite literally. I couldn't imagine any Lab, Con or Lim Dem politician doing this. Well done Plaid for getting off their respective arses. They're a long, long way from being perfect but they're the best we've got.

Now all you have to do is persuade old Mikey to get cracking with a poetic blog...

Don't know exactly who was arrested but Plaid's Leanne Wood and Jill Evans were taken in along with the SSP's Rosie Kane, Frances Curran and Carolyn Leckie.
