Plaid Cymru and the demise of Welsh rugby
Monday, February 26, 2007
Plaid release an opportunistic press statement on the eve of the six nations and then launch a rugby-themed attack on Labour.
Wales lose three on the bounce and look like a team lacking ideas.
I just hope they don't now jump on the Bluebirds' bandwagon. That could seriously derail our season.

Hey, hold one there Blamer. We played well against Ireland, admittedly dreadful against Scotland, and well against France. Actually (perhaps I should say "incredibly"!), we scored more tries than the French on Saturday. If we had stopped giving France all those penalties and converted our own we might have won it. Plus, we displayed some of the fluency against a strong French team which we displayed in 2005.
So I don't think we're lacking ideas. We just need some more confidence and possession. - At 3:36 pm, Blamerbell said...

Eh? Sounds like one of Kevin Keegan's worst excuses.
Wales didn't even score a try until the third game! Even then they ran out of steam after twenty minutes.
It's probably not the best association for a political party to be making in the run up to a key contest. - At 10:19 pm, Wynne Jones said...

Yes, but did you actually watch the games? Apart from the game at Scotland we actually played WELL. OK, it took us time to score some tries but don't forget, we scored THREE against the Six Nation favourites.
Like I said, if we could focus on keeping possession we'd probably win more games. You can't win games without keeping possession and in all our games so far we have maintained less than 50% of the possession. - At 6:13 am, Unknown said...

Actually, in rugby territory is more important than posession - in our Grand Slam year we won games with less than 50% posession...
But back to the politics....it was a good poster! - At 5:08 pm, Aran said...

You don't think it's been Cymuned's fault, then?...;-) We'll be back down with handouts for the England game, but I'm going to try not having tickets this time, and see if that makes a difference!
