Berkshire????

Doesn't Huw Edwards know I hark from the rolling hills of Merthyr?

Nuff said.

*An email tells me that it may not be clear in the studio that I am simply relaying comments and emails from visitors to my blog. Apparently it seems like I'm accusing Huw Edwards of accent fraud. No way, I think it's lovely.

You should play along, but pretend you're from Leicester - given the recent Heineken cup match, he'd probably cry...

Anywhere east of swansea is exotic when you're from west Wales ( I speak as a carmarthenshire girl writing a PhD on the literature of the Rhondda!)

Berkshire's lovely - you should be pleased. And, according to my "New Encyclopaedia" (published 1912) Reading, the county town, is famous for biscuits. So that's nice.

I think all us Welshies speak slightly differently when we're at home.. otherwise people from the East of Offa's Dyke wouldn't understand us - especially as I used to live in the county of Berkshire...

By the way, I think Huw is doing a fab job, but he needs to learn the dismissive approach Paxo has to the much derided blogosphere !!

"Merthyr's a top town!"

Too right. Just needs a bit of a facelift, that's all.
